Bloodmobile donors give 144 units

Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Peace Lutheran July 9, collecting 131 units. Milestones were reached by the following: 17 gallons: Gene Ebnet; 15 gallons: Ray Bandas, Sandy Wright, Kathy Bogatzki; 10 gallons: Dick Pollei, Kay Baumeister; 9 gallons: Jerry Haag; 7 gallons: Roger H. Schmidt; 5 gallons: Vicky Powers; 4 gallons: Nathan Fasching; 3 gallons: Peggy Weispfenning; 2 gallons: Katilyn Berglund, Eric Johnson; 1 gallon: Sierra Swanson; and first-time donor: Dori Duesterhoeft.

Dassel History Center to host Airborne Attraction

Dassel Area Historical Society presents Airborne Attraction, a group of performers from the Dassel-Cokato area. They will perform 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Dassel History Center. Band members include Zach Minkin on drums, Eliana Tagarro on bass, Sam Gedde on trumpet, and the Bortnem brothers, Charlie and Soren on fiddle and piano. Additionally all members of the group contribute vocals. They perform original arrangements of classic tunes from a variety of genres. Artists covered include Bill Withers, Elton John, The Beatles and The Charlie Daniels band. Admission is $5.

Citizens weigh in on downtown improvements

By KAY JOHNSON kajohnson@cherryroad.com Arts Place in downtown Hutchinson was humming Thursday as residents stopped by an open house to view an array of storyboards showing the results of the Hutchinson Downtown Community Survey conducted earlier this year. Presented by HKGi, a Minneapolis-based planning and urban design consulting firm, representatives Bryan Harjes, vice president, Kendra Ellner, planner, and Leilen Farias, designer, were on hand to explain results and answer questions.
