Judith Lee Hanson Gabrielson (“Judy”) died on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in Litchfield. She was 86. The daughter of Elmer and Gwendolyn Hanson, she was born in Perham on January 9, 1938. Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, David Vendale Gabrielson. She is survived by her children, Jill Gabrielson of Litchfield, Kurt Gabrielson (Ned Walley) of Silverthorne, Colo., and Kim Jonas (Scott) of Hudson, Wis.; granddaughters, Lexi Jonas (Nate Miller) of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Sophia Jonas of Hudson; her sister Cookie Bergen (Bob) of Marco Island, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Judy earned a degree in dental hygiene from University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and worked as a dental hygienist for 50 years. She also served on Litchfield’s District 5 Board of Youth Hockey for 15 years. She loved spending time with her family and was well known for hosting great gatherings. She and Dave were avid sports enthusiasts and spent many weekends going to basketball, golf, soccer and tennis tournaments watching Lexi and Sophia play and compete. Judy was happiest cooking for and entertaining her many loved ones at her and Dave’s longtime family home on Lake Ripley. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 17 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield. Visitation starts at 10 a.m. and will be followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. There will be a reception immediately following the service.
