Walter C. Froemming Jr., 94, of Hutchinson passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Cokato Manor in Cokato. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Hunters Ridge Community Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests those attending to please wear something pink. Military Honors by Hutchinson Memorial Rifle Squad. Judith “Judy” K. Reid, 80, of Hutchinson passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. She was the daughter of David and Anita (Merrill) Sommerness. Judy was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. She received her education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, class of 1962. Judy continued her education at St. Mary’s College in Minneapolis and Ridgewater Community College in Hutchinson. On August 22, 1964, Judy was united in marriage to David Lee Reid at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with five children, Timothy, Susan, Andrew, Matthew, and Cara. They resided in Hutchinson. Judy and David shared 19 years of marriage prior to the passing of David on June 18, 1984. Judy was employed as a nurse at Hutchinson Health. She retired in 2009. Judy was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church. Judy enjoyed traveling and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. Blessed be her memory. Alvin L. Peetsch, 81, of Hutchinson passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Memorial Service was Monday, August 12, 2024, 11 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe. He was the son of Lewis and Selma (Otto) Peetsch. Alvin was baptized and later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart. Alvin was blessed with four children, Lori, Brian, Shelly, and Bradley. In April of 1995, Alvin was united in marriage to Donna Debner in Las Vegas, Nev. Alvin and Donna made their home in Hutchinson where they shared 29 years of marriage until Donna passed away on April 29, 2024. Alvin was the grocery manager of Red Owl in Stewart and Country Club Markets in Minneapolis. He retired in 2001. Alvin was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Alvin enjoyed time with his family, fishing, football games, and reading the newspaper every day. Blessed be his memory. Laurel Leeland Olson, 93, of Hutchinson passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson. A Memorial Service was held at Vineyard United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 8, 2024. Pastor Allison Schwarz officiated, with music by Evelyn Mulder, pianist, and David Skaar, soloist. Laurel Leeland Olson was born on March 14, 1931, in Graceville to parents Beulah Blanche (Dodds) Olson and Oscar Adolph Olson of rural Clinton. Laurel graduated from Clinton High School in 1949 and farmed with his father and mother on the home place for four years, then volunteered for the military draft. He attended more school and served for two years on a radar base in Japan. In the fall of 1955, Laurel enrolled at University of Minnesota, St. Paul Campus, to study Agricultural Economics and Plant Industry. It was there he met his future wife, Margaret Nelson. They were married on September 13, 1958, at Bethel Mission Covenant Church in rural Roseau. Both he and Margaret graduated from U of MN in 1959. Son Eric was born in 1966 in Farmington and twin daughters, Karen and Kay in 1968 in Hutchinson. Laurel worked at Production Credit Association and then as an Assistant County Agricultural Extension Agent in Sibley County. Two years later when a job with Prudential Insurance Company’s mortgage loan division became available, they moved to Farmington to accept new responsibilities. During his tenure of nearly 30 years with the Pru, Laurel made farm loans to dozens of Minnesota farmers and later, upon a move to Chicago, helped serve farmers from the Indiana/ Illinois region to California. He always remarked that his favorite workplace was at the kitchen table of a farmer and his family. He so appreciated the casual lifestyle of farm families and thought himself lucky to be working with them to help them reach their goals.
