JULLIE A. KETTNER HATTEN

Jullie A. Kettner Hatten, 69, of Stewart passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at her home in Stewart. Memorial Service was held Monday, September 16, 2024, 11 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with interment in Hector City Cemetery in Hector.

Clergy Officiating: Pastor Nathaneal Mayhew; Organist: Vanessa Wales; Congregational Hymns: “God Loved the World So That He Gave”, “He That Believes And Is Baptized”, “Abide With Me”; Urn Bearer: Grandson, Zachary Kettner Jullie Ann Hatten was born on February 20, 1955, in Sleepy Eye. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Janette (Schueler) Schauman. Jullie was baptized on March 6, 1955, and was later confirmed in her faith on May 18, 1969, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. She received her education in Sleepy Eye and was a graduate of Sleepy Eye High School, class of 1973.

On March 5, 1993, Jullie was united in marriage to Grant Hatten in Sioux Falls, S.D. Jullie was blessed with four children of her own, Nick, Raquel, Nathan, and Ben, gaining Grant’s daughter, Lindsey, following their marriage. Jullie and Grant resided in rural Stewart. They shared 26 years of marriage until Grant passed away on July 8, 2019.

Jullie was employed at a daycare center. She was a lifelong member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye.

Jullie had a passion for carpentry work, fishing, gardening, canning, and sewing. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She will forever be in our hearts and memories. Jullie is survived by her best friend, Bert Bauer of Darwin; children, Nick Kettner and his wife Amy of Golden Valley, Raquel Brunson of Simpsonville, S.C., Nathan Kettner and his wife Jeana of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ben Kettner and his wife Lucinda of Newark, Del., Lindsey Marie Clark and her husband John of Green Isle; grandchildren, Desmond Brunson, Davin Brunson, Sherman Kettner, Lydia Kettner, Kairi Kettner, Kaylee Kettner, Zachary Kettner, Madelyn Kettner; step-grandchildren, Sean Ross, Samantha Clark, Alexandra Clark, Brianna Clark, Hayden Harms; siblings, Vickie (Craig) Peterson of Chaska, Michael (Marilyn) Schauman of Sleepy Eye, Nita (Harlan) Helget of Darfur, Jon (Janice) Schauman of Sleepy Eye, Kayla Nason of Sleepy Eye, Gina Schauman of Hector, William (Stephanie) Schauman of Helena, Mont.; many other relatives and friends.

Jullie is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Janette Schauman; husband, Grant Hatten; brother, Joel Schauman.
