ALLAN C. MAIERS

Allan C. Maiers, 89, of Shakopee, formerly of Stewart and Hutchinson, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, surrounded by family at Benedictine Living Community in Shakopee. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment in St. Boniface Cemetery in Stewart. Memorials preferred to St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart or St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson.

He was the 13th child of 17 to Henry and Grace (McGraw) Maiers. Allan was baptized and confirmed in his faith at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart. He received his education in Stewart and was a graduate of the Stewart High School, class of 1952.

On August 31, 1957, Allan was united in marriage to the love of his life, Phyllis Thomas, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Shakopee. This marriage was blessed with six children, Jean, Kevin, Terry, Brian, Don, and Wayne. They resided in rural Stewart and later moved to Hutchinson. Allan and Phyllis shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.

Allan was a man of deep faith and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart and St. Anatasia in Hutchison. He was also a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus and longtime member of Stewart Lion’s Club.

Allan was a lifelong farmer on the family farm in rural Stewart and was also employed as a service manager for McCormick Implement for 24 years. He retired in 1991.

Allan was an avid fisherman, loved to bowl, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Remaining to cherish Allan’s memory are his wife Phyllis Maiers of Shakopee; children, Jean Maiers of New Ulm, Kevin (Michele) Maiers of Hutchinson, Terry (Karen) Maiers of Buffalo Lake, Brian (Mary) Maiers of Shakopee, Don (Roxanne) Maiers of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Wayne (Pam) Maiers of Arlington; 14 grandchildren and their significant others; five step-grandchildren and their spouses; 23 greatgrandchildren; siblings, Theresa Kuttner of Stewart, Sr. Gen Maiers OSB of St. Cloud, Sr. Gracemarie Maiers OSB of St. Cloud; sisters-in-law, Lou Paul of Waconia, Delores Klehr of White Bear Lake, Jeannine Maiers of Buffalo Lake; many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Allan is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Grace Maiers; siblings, Sr. Mary Jean Maiers, Daniel Maiers, Paul (Margaret) Maiers, Joe (Sally) Maiers, Jack (Dottie) Maiers, Loy (Lucille) Maiers, Virginia (Jim) Weis, Stanley Maiers, Raymond (Dolly) Maiers, George Kuttner, Brenda Maiers, Brennan Maiers OSB, Maureen Rubischko, Patrick (Judy) Maiers; Granddaughter, Angela Grace Maiers.

The family would like to give a special thank you for the love and support from the staff and residents of Benedictine Living Center, the caregivers from St. Croix Hospice, and those who visited and cared for Allan throughout the years.
