Joan E. Borg, 88, of Hutchinson passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Memorial Service was held October 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. She was the daughter of Chris and Maude (Andres) Heinz. Joan was baptized at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Shawano, Wis. She received her education in Columbus, Wis., and was a graduate of Wisconsin Academy, class of 1955. Joan furthered her education at Union College in Lincoln, Neb., to earn her associates degree to be a nursing assistant. Joan was the beloved mother of Crystal and Aaron Conn, her determined spirit lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On July 8, 1973, Joan was united in marriage to Clifford Borg at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hutchinson. Joan and Clifford resided in Hutchinson. They shared 51 years of marriage. Joan was employed as a nursing assistant at Hutchinson Health and then later at Lakeside Generations in Dassel. She retired in 2002. After retirement, Joan worked part-time in Hutch Health Nursery. Joan was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hutchinson. Joan enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, playing board games and ceramics, she was a farm girl at heart. After her retirement she volunteered at Twice as Nice in Hutchinson and at her church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. On August 6, 2024, when Joan needed additional care, she moved to Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.

She passed away there on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 88 years. Blessed be her memory. Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Clifford Borg of Hutchinson; daughter, Crystal Allen and her husband Scott of Lincoln; son, Aaron Conn and his wife Lucina of Hutchinson; blended family, Michael Borg and his wife Mariann of Mesa, Ariz., Becky Borg of Minneapolis, Douglas Borg and his wife Denise of Minneapolis, Randal Borg and his wife Jill of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Mitchell, Garrett, Hilary, Kendall, Jayden, Haley, Bella, Addison; 11 blended grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Odette, Rexander, Magnolia; 12 blended great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
