About me: My wife, Pam, and I have been active residents in Hutchinson for more than 25 years. We have raised our three children in Hutchinson, who have all attended school here. I am an Eagle Scout and former scoutmaster who wants to help make the Hutchinson Schools better!
Voters have a full slate of races to decide when they go to the polls this year — whether it be during the early voting period, which began last week, or on Election Day, Nov. 5.
About me: My husband, Blake, and I moved here in 2008 to start a small business, which we operated until selling in 2016. Currently, I work as a development officer at Southwest Initiative Foundation and stay busy cheering on our three kids (ages 8, 11, 15). My children are fifth generation Tigers!

Hutchinson Police Services responded to the following incidents: Sept. 13: Hutchinson Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Adams Street Northeast and Washington Avenue East. Kalley Jo Lang, 27, of Atwater, driving a 2018 Jeep Compass, was southbound on Adams Street Northeast. Dianne Marie Schwecke, 71, of Schroeder, was westbound on Washington Avenue East in driving a 2020 Lexus NX. Both vehicles stopped at the four-way stop. Lang proceeded southbound. Schwecke turned left to head south. The vehicles collided, causing front-end damage to both vehicles. Lang’s vehicle was towed from the scene. No citations issued. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
About me: I am running for re-election to the Hutchinson School Board. I’ve been a lifelong resident of Hutchinson, my wife works for the school district, and both of our kids go to Hutchinson Schools. We’re invested in the success of this district.
About me: After serving as a full-time Lutheran pastor for 14 years, I’m now farming with my in-laws and preaching occasionally for congregations. My wife, Alissa, and I have two daughters enrolled in the district in fourth grade and kindergarten. I enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, and working on anything with an engine.
About me: My husband, Michael, and I have been married for over 30 years. I served in the United States Air Force on active duty for eight years. We have two grown children. My son has special needs, and I work with him daily. Working with my son has increased my knowledge of the different needs of students. We made Hutchinson our home 31 years ago. We are members of St. Anastasia Catholic Church. I have served for the past three years as the Hutchinson Post 96 Commander.
While many folks his age are retired or thinking about retiring, Brian Rick, 66, owner of Rick Plumbing and Heating in Hutchinson is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his second-generation family business. “My dad started the business,” Rick said.
