Beverly A. Schmidt, 87, of Hutchinson passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by family at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Funeral Service was held Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Trinity Cemetery in Lynn Township.

She was the daughter of Arnold and Mildred (Haag) Daak. Beverly was baptized as an infant on October 24, 1937, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on September 24, 1950, both at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lynn Township. She received her education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, class of 1955.
On July 1, 1956, Beverly was united in marriage to Milan Schmidt at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church in Lynn Township. This marriage was blessed with four children, Michael, Kimberly, Rick, and Kari. Beverly and Milan resided in the city of Hutchinson for 16 years before moving to their country home in Lynn Township in 1972. They shared 45 years of marriage prior to the passing of Milan on March 27, 2002.
Beverly was employed in food service at the elementary and middle schools in Hutchinson. She retired after almost 40 years of service. Beverly attended both Vineyard United Methodist Church and Peace Lutheran Church, both in Hutchinson. She was active with Vineyard Church Women’s Fellowship and a former 4-H leader.
Beverly enjoyed gardening, canning, and reading. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Beverly never missed going to McLeod County Fair or seeing The Whitesidewalls whenever they were playing in the Hutchinson area. Beverly cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

Beverly is survived by her son Rick Schmidt and his wife Janet of Hutchinson; daughter Kari Schmidt of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Nicole VanHauen and her husband Derek of Willmar, Kelsey Wichman and her husband Scott of Hutchinson, Nathaniel Schmidt and his wife Amanda of Chaska, Benjamin Schmidt and his wife Morgan of Hutchinson, Andrew Schmidt and his significant other Kenzi Riedel of Hutchinson, Gregor of Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Grayson, Charley, Jax, Kelby, Miles, Bryer, and expectant Baby Schmidt; brother, Wesley Daak and his wife Shirley of Hutchinson; sister Judy Suess and her husband Larry of Hutchinson; brothers-in-law, Oliver Schmidt of Hutchinson, Ed Schmidt of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Mildred Daak; husband Milan Schmidt; son Michael Schmidt; daughter Kimberly Schmidt, grandson Nicholas Schmidt; brother Dale Daak and his wife Sheila; father- and mother-in-law, Anton and Agnes Schmidt; brother-in-law, John Schmidt.
