CURTIS HENSCHKE

 Curtis Henschke, 74, died Thursday, December 12, 2024, at his home in Hutchinson surrounded by his family. Memorial Services will be Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake with Pastor Dave Drager officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia.
 Curtis Lynn Henschke was born May 26, 1950, in Hutchinson to Ora and Anita (Haas) Henschke. Curt grew up in Buffalo Lake. He was baptized June 11, 1950, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake and confirmed there on March 22, 1964. Curt graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Kadelbach on November 10, 1973, at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake. Besides being a farmer he did farm drainage with Skolberg and Wojahn, was a relief mail carrier, worked at Buffalo Lake Ethanol Plant, and later was employed at HTI and 3M in Hutchinson. He enjoyed volunteering with Buffalo Lake Days commit­tee, was a board member at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center, and a board member at Zion United Methodist Church.
 Curt had enjoyed fishing, doing lawn care, spending time with family and friends and attending his grandchildren’s events. He was also an avid Vikings and NDSU Bison football fan. He will be fondly remembered for always wanting to help others.
 Curt is survived by his wife Marilyn; daughter Rachel (and Jay) Squibb of Buffalo Lake; sons: Eric Henschke of Moorhead and Adam (and Sarah) Henschke of Cosmos; grandchildren: Parker and Ash­ley Squibb, Connor and Quinn Henschke, and Makayla, Kylee, and Lilly Henschke; his siblings: Yvonne Hamblin of Apache Junction, Ariz., Ardell (and Howard) Ryberg of Buffalo Lake, Wayne (and Dorothy) Henschke of New Ulm; his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Lloyd (and Sue) Kadelbach of Litchfield, Doug (and Red) Kadelbach of Buffalo Lake, and Deanna (and Steve) Sickmann of Hutchinson; and many nieces and nephews. Curt was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Gerry and Herb Kadelbach; sister-in-law Lou Henschke; and brothers-in-law Virgil Hamblin and Dennis Rettmann.
