Joyce Bode, 80, of Hutchinson passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her home in Hutchinson. A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Church of St. Philip at 11 a.m. Visitation was held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the church and continued one hour prior to the service. A prayer service began at 4 p.m.
 Joyce Mary Bode was born on May 31, 1944, to Donald and Freda (Gross) Ward in Turtle Lake, Wis. She graduated from Mounds View High School in 1962. After graduation, she worked at Honeywell until she met her first husband, Darwin Schiroo, at a wedding dance. They were united in marriage on November 7, 1970, and they moved to the farm by Cosmos. Joyce also had a great career as a dispatcher for Meeker County. Joyce dedicated a total of 36 years of service to Meeker County, 10 of those years were as head dispatcher. Joyce had a passion for helping others and mentored many young dispatchers during her time.
 On September 25, 2004, Joyce married her second husband, Ron Bode. Joyce and Ron enjoyed traveling, camping and going to Ron’s hunting shack.
 Joyce’s family was her top priority in life. She was always the biggest cheerleader, loudest supporter with the broadest shoulders to carry our burdens. She taught us so many things and the gift of her love for her family will forever be her legacy. We will continue to live our lives in ways that honor that legacy.
 She is survived by her children, Bryan (Diana) Schiroo, Donna (John) Miller, Mark (Aphra) Schiroo, significant other Darrell Mason; grandchildren Cody (Cheyenne) Schiroo, Merrick Schiroo, Matthew (Kayla) Miller, Mackenzie (Jon) Kellen, Gracie Miller, Kendalyn Miller; step-grandchildren; Dominic Trojanek, Katlynn Trojanek, Mia Knuth; great-grandchildren Oliver Schiroo, Sawyer Schiroo, Michael Kellen; sister MaryAnn (Gary) Stevenson and sister-in-law Pat Ward and many nieces, nephews and friends.
 Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Bode; parents Donald and Freda; brother Ronald Ward; and first husband Darwin Schiroo.
