Hutchinson Police Services responded to the following incidents: June 21: Hutchinson Police responded to a two-vehicle accident near near the intersection of State Highway 15 South and South Grade Road Southwest. Both vehicles were northbound on Highway 15 South, just south of the South Grade Road Southwest. Lucille Minnie Pederson, 91, of Buffalo Lake, driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR was directly in front of Thomas Donald Wirt, 81, of Hutchinson, driving a 1996 Ford Explorer. Pederson was stopped, but Wirt failed to stop and struck the rear end of her vehicle. No reported injuries. Both involved were wearing seatbelts. Wirt was issued a citation for petty misdemeanor for duty to drive with due care, speed greater than reasonable, misdemeanor for expiration of drivers license over 21, and petty misdemeanor for operating a vehicle with expired registration.
