Hutchinson wastewater treatment facility manager Tim Gratzke received the George W. Burke Jr. Facility Safety Award during the Central States Water Environment Associate’s 97th Annual Conference in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The weeklong Hutchinson Jaycee 81st annual Water Carnival had its crowning moments Sunday night when 2023 Miss Hutchinson Lexie Fitzwater crowned her successor Avery Watzke, and Princess Montana Swaja did the honors of placing the crown on the head of Katelyn Van Marel.
The inaugural Water Carnival Pickleball Tournament drew a field of 11 doubles teams competing in two divisions Saturday. Though threat of rain forced players indoors to the Commercial Building at Mc-Leod County Fairgrounds, the tournament drew good reviews from competitors and organizers.
Water Carnival tournament drew 45 competitors to the Ridgewater College course It was sunny, but windy, which threw off many scores during the Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival Disc Golf Tournament June 11 at Ridgewater College. Forty-five competitors played in the two-round tournament of 24 holes.
