The first memory is working the craft fair with my parents (Jeremy and Leah Watzke). I will always remember walking around the fair with my mom and loving how everything was so creative and beautiful! My second memory is attending all of the Water Carnival events over the years.

One of my favorite memories of Hutchinson has to be the year I moved here. My family and I up and moved the middle of my seventh-grade year to be closer to my dad’s place of work.

Why did you decide to participate in this year’s Water Carnival? To feel like I’m more a part of the community and get to know Hutchinson better. Of course, there is the part of getting to feel like a princess or queen for a week or more, whether I win or lose.

I don’t have any specific memory that really sticks out in my head, except for the year I was Junior Queen. I have lived in this town my entire life and have had so many great times during my years growing up.

One of my favorite memories of Hutchison is when I was playing 10U Hutchinson fastpitch softball in the Water Carnival tournament. Our team won first place, and the medals were misspelled and spelled “frist.” That same weekend I played up at the 12U Hutchinson fastpitch softball Water Carnival tournament.

I think one of my favorite memories of Hutchinson would have to be seeing the fireworks. This is one of my favorite memories, because this is one of the things that brings my family together.
