Tigers win three in a row as postseason looms
Hutchinson entered the final week of the regular season with two games on the schedule. The Tigers, 9-9 overall, were scheduled to play host to Mound-Westonka Tuesday, then Little Falls at 4:30 p.m.
Huskies pick up second win
Seven-run inning propels Hutchinson over Cold Spring Hutchinson scored seven runs in the fourth inning then held on for a 10-8 win over Cold Spring Sunday at Dave Mooney Baseball Complex. The Huskies improved to 2-0 with a game that was a stark contrast to their season-opening win over Courtland, in which the relied on pitching and defense to secure a 2-1 win in 10 innings.
What air is to fire . . .
It is an extraordinary person who will offer up their own life in order for future generations to prosper and live in the land of the free as is the way of our military veterans. I’m humbled every day by the bravery and the courage of our veterans and their families. They deserve all our respect, our support and our admiration. The incredible scope of their sacrifice is unfathomable. It pains me to see the vitriol, the falsehoods, and outrageous behaviors performed in the name of First Amendment freedoms. But that’s exactly what our veterans fought so hard to preserve, our freedoms and our rights.
Congress just accomplished something. Can it do it again?
Until recently, it seemed like you couldn’t turn around without finding a headline lambasting the current Congress as the least productive ever. There was good reason for that, which we’ll get into shortly, but it’s worth noting that they’ve suddenly disappeared. Clearly, that’s because of April’s passage of the foreign aid package that includes significant aid for Ukraine, Israel and Gaza, and Taiwan, and a measure that attempts to force a sale of TikTok.

The following incidents were reported by Hutchinson Police Services. May 2: Hutchinson Police received a report from the Hutchinson Parks Department for damage and missing items from the pier at Cedar Park.
Ag equipment mechanic program earns stamp of approval
Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation gave its stamp of approval to Ridgewater’s Agriculture Equipment Mechanic program recently by granting accreditation for the program. The Ridgewater program is the first in Minnesota to be accredited by the AED Foundation.
Bloodmobile donors give 136 units
Red Cross Bloodmobile was visited Peace Lutheran May 14, collecting 136 units. Milestones were reached by the following: 18 gallons: Tim Halverson; 16 gallons: Mike McDowell; 15 gallons: Carol Damlow; 14 gallons: Jan Johnson; 13 gallons: Dick Higgins; 12 gallons: Marilyn Rath; 10 gallons: Jane Klement; 8 gallons: Robb Totushek; 7 gallons: Fred Johnson; 6 gallons: Lisa Talbott; 4 gallons: Jeff Christensen; 3 gallons: Linda Smestad and Peggy Weispfenning.
