Mavis I. O’Malley, 88, of Hutchinson passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson. Memorial Service was held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 11 a.m.. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

 Mavis Ione O’Malley was born on April 18, 1936, in St. Peter. She was the daughter of Sherman and Lela (Smith) Ely. Mavis was baptized at Church of Christ in Cleveland. She received her education in Cleveland and was a graduate of Cleveland High School, class of 1954.
 On September 28, 1957, Mavis was united in marriage to Roger O’Malley at Church of Christ in Cleveland. This marriage was blessed with three children, Connie, Molly, and Allen. Mavis and Roger resided in Hutchinson. They shared 61 years of marriage prior to the passing of Roger on November 23, 2018.
 Mavis was employed in the supply department at 3M in Hutchinson. She retired on October 1, 1991. Mavis was a member of Church of Christ in Dassel.
 Mavis loved flowers and enjoyed watching TV, camping, and managing a maple syrup business. She also enjoyed bluegrass music, dancing, and was a volunteer for the Hutchinson Music Association since 1988. Mavis cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

 Mavis is survived by her daughters, Connie Bjork and her husband Byron of Hutchinson, Molly O’Malley of Hutchinson; son, Allen O’Malley of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Christopher Bjork and his wife Jill, Gregory Bjork and his wife Jenna, Timothy Bjork and his wife Daphane, Abby Albrecht and her husband Josh, Zachary Markgraf and his wife Rachel, Emily Markgraf and her fiancé Jesse Van Nurden, Carlie Madsen and her significant other Clayton Moore; great-grandchildren, Stanley Bjork, Juniper, Roderick, and Eloise, Bjork, Everleigh, and Bridger Bjork; Kirsten, Braeden and Eli Albrecht, Willow Markgraf; sisters-in-law, Elsie Ely of Cleveland, Alice Ely of Cleveland, Ardis Ely of Cleveland; many other relatives and friends.
 Mavis is preceded in death by her husband, Roger O’Malley; parents, Sherman and Lela Ely; sisters, Marian Nyberg, Mildred Grice, Lola Norris; Brothers, Willis Ely, Eugene “Bud” Ely, Harry Ely; grandson-in-law, Hudson Madsen.
