BERNICE “BERNIE”SCHLUETER ULRICH

Bernice “Bernie” Schlueter Ulrich, 68, of Hutchinson and Cedar Mills passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Cokato Manor in Cokato. Memorial Service was Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 11 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township with interment in the church cemetery.

She was the daughter of Elmer and Arliss (Iverson) Schlueter. Bernie was baptized as an infant on June 7, 1956, at home and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 17, 1970, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township. She received her education through the eighth grade at St. John’s Parochial School in Cedar Mills Township. Bernie transferred to Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson in the ninth grade. She was a graduate with the class of 1974. On August 29, 1987, Bernie was united in marriage to Randy Ulrich. This marriage was blessed with one daughter, Emily. Bernie resided in Hutchinson and the Cedar Mills area. Bernie was employed at various local businesses including Pamida, VFW Post 906, Cash Wise and Walmart.

She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills Township. Bernie enjoyed browsing garage sales and reading. She especially cherished time spent playing cards and visiting with her family and friends. Blessed be her memory. Bernie is survived by her siblings, Darryl Schlueter of Litchfield, Marcella Westlund of Litchfield, Barbara Rannow and her husband, Eugene of Litchfield; great-nephew, Brady Sohns of Brownton; many cousins, other relatives and friends. Bernie is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer A. and Arliss Schlueter; daughter, Emily Ulrich; sister, in infancy; brother-in-law, Wayne Westlund; niece, Dawn Westlund.
