ROXANNE D. JENSEN

 Roxanne D. Jensen, 98, of Hutchinson passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Funeral Service was Thursday, January 30, 2025, 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

 Roxanne Darlene Jensen was born on July 17, 1926, at home in Eitzen. She was the daughter of Martin “Mike” and Louise (Fruechte) Meiners. Roxanne was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Trinity Lutheran in Lucan. She received her education in Milroy and graduated from Milroy High School, class of 1944. Roxanne was the last surviving member of her class.
 On April 24, 1945, Roxanne was united in marriage to Derwin Jensen at Trinity Lutheran in Lucan by Reverend Edward Domke. This marriage was blessed with four children, Lynn, Cheryl, Linda, and Gene. Roxanne and Derwin resided and farmed in the Lucan area in Redwood County until 1959 when they moved to Clarissa. In 1967, Derwin’s job took them to Hutchinson. They shared 60 years of marriage until Derwin passed away on January 8, 2006.
 Roxanne worked at 3M for 20 years in production and also as a receptionist. She also liked to volunteer as a Cub and Boy Scouts Leader, 4-H Leader as well as taught Sunday school. Roxanne was a member of both the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliaries. She held many offices in each. The Hutchinson Hospital Auxiliary was another opportunity to volunteer. Roxanne also served as an election judge for many years.
 In retirement, Roxanne and Derwin enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S.A. on their Gold Wing motorcycle. They often traveled with their Christian Motorcycle Club.
 Roxanne was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson for over 57 years. Most visitors usually left with one new acquaintance, as Roxanne made it her mission to greet and welcome those new to Christ the King! Roxanne especially cherished time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends.
 A fall caused Roxanne to suffer a fractured leg and Harmony River became her new home for several months. She passed away there on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 98 ½ years.

 Roxanne is survived by her children, Lynn Jensen (Diana Nowak) of Oak Grove, Cheryl Sanken of Hutchinson, Linda Ault of Hutchinson, Gene (Carol) Jensen of Deerwood; grandchildren, Shaun (Yvette) Jensen of Scottsdale, Ariz., Dr. Shane (Laline) Jensen of Sequin, Texas, Cindy (Will) Schneider of Yuma, Ariz., Tim (Sara) Sanken Jr. of Blaine, Jacob (Melissa) Sanken of Hutchinson, Melissa Sue (Nate Lukes) Sanken of Lester Prairie, Ryan (Ashley) Kellish of Pittsboro, N.C., Kacie (Bill) Reading of Holly Springs, N.C., Stacey (Andrew) Stewart of Sydney, Australia, Paul (Carolyn) Weisz of Orono; great-grandchildren, Parker (Jessica) Sanken, Carter Sanken, Ashley Jasken, Emily (Will Sanchez) Jasken, Travis Polifka, Alexis and Isabelle Sanken, Aurora and Thor Jensen, Hailey and Conner Jensen, Caitlin Schneider and Zackary Schneider, Hannah, Abigail and Bennett Weisz, Eloise, Madeline, Mark and Emma Kellish, Emily and Jacob Reading; siblings, Verneil Thompson of Alexandria, David (Becky) Meiners of Hendricks, Dean (Sandra) Meiners of Clarissa; sister-in-law, Nancy Meiners of Scottsdale; many other relatives and friends.
 Roxanne is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Louise Meiners; husband, Derwin Jensen; son-in-law, Timothy Sanken Sr.; grandson, Andrew Sanken; great-granddaughter, Chloe Schneider; sisters, Shirley (Clarence) Gilb, Audrey (Carl) Lawrence, B. Randeen (Daniel) Murphy; brothers, Gorlynn Meiners, Amber (Julie) Meiners, Marlin Meiners (infancy); brother-in-law, Richard Thompson.
