Kay A. Falling, 79, of Hutchinson passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Woodstone Active Living in Hutchinson. Funeral Service was held Friday, January 31, 2025, 1 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Kay Antoinette Falling was born on August 4, 1945, in Mankato. She was the daughter of Bryce and Gertrude (Stefanski) Cassens. Kay was baptized and confirmed as an adult at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson where she remained a lifelong member. She received her education in Hutchinson and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School.
On June 23, 1961, Kay was united in marriage to Eugene “Gene” Falling by Pastor Julius Beulow at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Kevin, Jody, Robin. Kay and Gene made their first home in Hutchinson, later moved to Mound and Biscay, and in 1973 settled in Glencoe. They shared 55 years of marriage until Gene passed away on October 1, 2016.
Kay was employed as a certified nursing assistant and a licensed practical nurse for various home health agencies. She absolutely loved her job and her patients. Helping others was her passion.
Kay enjoyed travelling and going for walks. Kay and Gene first spotted each other on a walk. They truly were the love of each other’s life. She especially cherished time spent with her family and friends. Kay also cherished the dogs she and Gene had over the years. Their pets were family too.
In 2023, Kay moved into Woodstone Active Living, making unforgettable friendships with staff and other residents along the way. They were like family to her.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Jody Wentz and her husband Larry of West Fargo, N.D.; brother, Bryce Cassens Jr. of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Bryce and Gertrude Cassens; husband, Gene Falling; infant son, Kevin Falling; infant daughter, Robin Falling; sisters, Barb Cassens, Sharen (Donald) Farenbaugh; sister-in-law, Jeanne Cassens; nephews, Randy Cassens, Tony Cassens, Derek Farenbaugh.
