Etheline F. Clasen, 95, of Hutchinson passed away on January 24, 2025, at Ecumen Oaks in Hutchinson. Memorial Service was held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Etheline Fern Clasen was born on December 5, 1929, in Glencoe. She was the daughter of Harry and Alta (Todd) Ahlbrecht. Etheline was baptized as an infant on June 14, 1934, in Biscay and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on September 30, 1935, at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed Church. She received her education through the sixth grade at Swan Lake country school, attended seventh grade at Heatwole country school, and one year in Hutchinson before transferring to Glencoe High School graduating with the class of 1947.
On October 16, 1951, Etheline was united in marriage to Ralph Clasen at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with two children, Michael and Janelle. Etheline and Ralph made their home in Hutchinson. They shared 60 years of marriage until Ralph passed away on November 4, 2011.
Etheline was employed at AL Lake’s Restaurant, Riecho’s, and 3M in Hutchinson. She also worked in the kitchen at Park Elementary School in Hutchinson for 25 years before retiring in 2001. Etheline was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, serving as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also president and queen of a local TOPS Club.
Etheline enjoyed puzzles, embroidery, reading, and watching sports of any kind, especially her grandsons. She cherished time spent playing pinochle and visiting with her grandsons and family members.

Janelle Katzenmeyer and her lifelong partner Lyle Bonderson of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Nicholas (Rachel) Clasen, Benjamin (Amy) Clasen, Joseph (Melissa) Katzenmeyer, Eric (Kati) Katzenmeyer, Adam (Partner, Jenna Smith) Katzenmeyer; great-grandchildren, Harper and Hudson Clasen, Violet Clasen, Sage and Thea Birdsall, Peter Katzenmeyer, Isabel, Claire and Sydney Katzenmeyer, Sophia Barnaal; many other relatives and friends.
Etheline is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alta Ahlbrecht; husband, Ralph Clasen; siblings, Laura Michaletz, Marian Schuette, and twin Sister, Adeline Darsow; son-in-law, Bradly Katzenmeyer; daughter-in-law, Valerie Clasen.
