Richard A. Miller, 77, of Ellsworth Township, rural Darwin, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at his home. Memorial Service was held Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 2 p.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Interment with military honors will be planned in the spring at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Winsted. He was the son of Reuben and Alice (Forsman) Miller. Richard and Jane (Zimmerman) were united in marriage July 20, 1968, at St. Paul Cathedral and shared 56 years as husband and wife. They were blessed with four children, Michelle Butler, Russell and Robert Miller and Kristen Miller Kraus. They resided in Darwin for 47 years. Richard was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in Vietnam from 1964-1967 aboard the carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. After completing his service, he volunteered as a firefighter in his hometown of Winsted and later in Hutchinson, where he worked as a tool & die maker for 3M. He retired December 30, 2004, after 36 years. Richard spent many years operating a machine shop side business, RAM Enterprises. He also enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, gardening and finding new recipes.
