Jerome A. Meyer, 78, of Hutchinson passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. Funeral Service was held Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Jerome Allen Meyer was born on November 18, 1946, in Glencoe. He was the son of Melvin and Marvel (Schultz) Meyer. Jerome was baptized as an infant on December 8, 1946, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stewart and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 5, 1960, at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton. He received his education in Brownton and was a graduate of Brownton High School, class of 1964.
Jerome entered active military service in the United States Army on March 22, 1966, in Minneapolis and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 21, 1968, at Fort Eustis, Va., and achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class.
On October 25, 1969, Jerome was united in marriage to Elrosa “Rose” Kiecker at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Wellington Township, Renville County. This marriage was blessed with three children, Melissa, Jeremy, and Melanie. Jerome and Rose resided in Hutchinson. They shared 55 years of marriage.
Jerome was employed at the Mink Farm by Lake Marion, Green Giant, and Telax. He was most recently employed in production at Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing (3M) in Hutchinson. Jerome retired in 2003. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Jerome was also a member of the Hutchinson American Legion Post 96 and supporter of disabled veterans.
Jerome enjoyed deer, turkey, and bear hunting. He also enjoyed fishing and trips to casinos. Jerome cherished spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Jerome is survived by his wife Elrosa “Rose” Meyer of Hutchinson; daughters, Melissa “Missy” Buddy and her husband Rick of Willmar, Melanie Voigt of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Rachel Millerbernd and her husband Levi of Hutchinson, Dylan Buddy of Omaha, Neb., Tanner Buddy of Willmar; great-grandson Elijah Millerbernd of Hutchinson;
brother James Meyer and his wife Corinne of Brownton; brother-in-law Tom Thiesfeld of Deerwood; sister-in-law Connie Meyer of Cokato; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Jerome is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Marvel Meyer; son Jeremy Meyer; siblings, Janet (Henry) Zajicek, Judy Thiesfeld, Jerald Meyer.
