Elizabeth “Betty” L. Judd, 83, of Hutchinson, and formerly of Buffalo, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Harmony River in Hutchinson. She was born on August 17, 1941, in Springfield, the daughter of Raymond and Marcella (Hagert) Baune.
Her faith was especially important to her! She was a faithful member of St. Mary of Czestochowa in rural Delano for many years. Betty was a great cook and enjoyed her flowers, music, and reading.
Family and friends in Minnesota and Mission, Texas, were an important part of her life. She especially loved children, and they loved her, especially her nieces and nephews, and children she took care of for busy parents. These special relationships continued into adulthood.
Betty loved music and sang in choirs in high school and in churches for many years. She often sang solos in church and especially loved Panis Angelicus and Ava Maria.
Surviving her are siblings: Rosie Ormberg, James Baune, Mary Schmit, Virgil Baune, David Baune and Janice Jones, and special family member David Judd; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter R. Judd, on March 4, 2021, her parents, sisters Cyrilla Lande, Doris Roth, and Darlene Macht, and a brother, Vernon Baune, five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Judd will be on Saturday, August 2 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
A visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will be at St. Anne Cemetery in Wabasso at a later date.
