VERNON HOFFMAN

 Vernon Hoffman, 94, of Phoenix, Ariz., passed away on October 5, 2025, at his home in Phoenix.
 Vernon James Hoffman was born on July 17, 1931, in Armour, S.D. He was the son of Ben and Mable (Dvorak) Hoffman. He received his education at a rural school in Stewart, but had to drop out in the 8th grade to help on the farm. He later took a class to get his G.E.D. He entered the Army National Guard during the Korean War in 1949-1951. He was sent to Camp Rucker in Alabama. He received an honorable discharge as a Corporal in 1953.
 On June 4, 1956, Vernon was united in marriage to Marcella Rath at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Stewart. This marriage was blessed with two children, Roxanne and Lee. Vernon and Marcella resided in Hutchinson. They shared 69 years of marriage.
 Vernon started working at the Stewart beet dump and at Wacker Imp. After moving to Hutchinson and purchasing a home, he worked for Dunning Imp., Hutch Mfg. and Swanson’s Truck Stop.
 In 1969 he started working at 3M (Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing in Hutchinson. He also worked for Clarence Kulberg and at Barton’s Hatchery and Farm in Silver Lake. In 1973, he purchased a farm east of Hutchinson. After selling the farm in 1983, he moved to Phoenix where he worked at Roll Lite Doors. When he retired from there in 1999, he started working for Barry Barton every spring and fall for 21 years.
 Vernon enjoyed farming, polka dancing, camping, traveling, playing cards and spending time with family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

 Vernon is survived by his wife Marcella; children Roxanne and her husband Michael Hetherinton of Peoria, Ariz., son Lee Hoffman of Phoenix, grandson Travis and his wife Lindsay of Surprise, Ariz., great-grandson Jaxon and step-great-grandchildren Sydney and Brenden, Vernon’s sister Nora Vollrath of Silver Lake, many other relatives and dear friends Barry and Sharon Barton.
 Vernon is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Mable HOffman, brother Benny Hoffman and sisters Ramona Wosmek and Adline Hlavka and many other relatives and friends.
