Mark Lies, 67 year old resident of St. Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2024, at his home in St. Cloud. A Funeral Mass took place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls. Visitation took place at St. Mary’s Church one hour prior to the funeral Mass. Caring for Mark and his family was Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Mark John Lies was born to the late Thomas and Dolores (Hueller) Lies in Little Falls. He was the fourth of 10 children. Mark was the consummate salesperson. His work took him into a variety of fields. Among them, he managed Crow River Country Club in Hutchinson, he worked for Easy Go Golf Leasing and for many years, sales for Forma Feed Company. Mark’s son Ben was the pride and joy of his life. His love for Ben was deep and abiding. Mark often boasted about Ben’s many successes in education and athletics. Mark would be the first to say the most important times in his life were spent with Ben. Mark’s spirit and enthusiasm were ever present and he was well loved by many. Friends describe him as, “kind, self-deprecating, off the chart funny, quick-witted, brilliant, and someone you wanted to be around.” Mark loved to golf, especially with the `Heckamavitch’ brothers, Mick MaCabe, Steve Mager, and Stuart Mager. He also stayed in contact with his good friends from his college days, Bob Parker, Shiela McCabe, and Leslie Kelly. To say Mark was larger than life is an understatement. He will be greatly missed. Mark is survived by his son, Ben Lies of Hutchinson; siblings, Mary (Joseph Klisch) of Bowlus, Thomas (Becky) Lies of St. Cloud, Stephen (Debbie) Lies of Little Falls, Laurie (Richard) Lozier of Little Falls, Michael (Cami) Lies of Little Falls, Fr.
