Doris Mae (Ondracek) Wraspir, 82, of Silver Lake passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital.

She was born on September 18, 1941, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Marvan) Ondracek. Doris was baptized on December 7, 1941, by Rev. Jaroslau Mrazek at Czech Brethren Presbyterian Church. She was confirmed in 1956 by Rev. William Kovar. Doris attended Bear Lake County School for the first seven years and later graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1959. On September 8, 1962, Doris Mae Ondracek and Glen H. Wraspir were joined in holy marriage at Czech Brethren Presbyterian Church. The Dr. E. Joseph Rose performed the ceremony. This marriage was blessed with two children, Dale Glen and Debra Ann. After graduation, Doris held employment at Powell Candy Co. of Minneapolis. She then was employed for the next 32 years until retirement at 3M Company of Hutchinson. She also worked for Nathan Produce for a while. Over the years, Doris loved all her cats and took very good care of them. She loved her current cat, Friskie, until the day she died. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her roses, babysitting her grandchildren, polka music, camping, fishing, and golfing. Doris especially liked the “Wee-Willie Band”. Doris was very active in her church, Faith Presbyterian Church of Silver Lake. Through the years, she served as a deacon, elder, usher and church custodian. Doris belonged to Mariners Club and played the role of Mrs. Santa during the Christmas holidays. She also served school lunches part-time and was a past secretary of her church P.W. Association. Survived by two children, Dale (Betty) Wraspir of Silver Lake and Debra (Reggie) Krueger of Watertown; grandchildren, Bailey (Derek) Van- DeVeire, Julia (Nathanael) Hostetter, Kelsey (Johnny) Bones, Claire, Ethan and Andrew (Olivia) Wraspir; great-grandchildren, Remi, Eliana, Rhett and Elyas; a sister Mary Brelje; other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Glen Wraspir; her parents; a brother David (Darlene) Ondracek; and by a brother-in-law LeRoy “Butch” Brelje. Funeral services for Doris Wraspir will be held on Friday, August 23 at 11 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. Rev. Laura Messer will officiate and interment follows at Bohemian National Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22 from 4 – 7 p.m. AT THE CHURCH. Further visitation will be held on Friday morning, August 23, one hour prior to services.
