About Toward Zero Deaths

McLeod County Toward Zero Deaths Safe Roads Coalition’s is a nonprofit organization supported by volunteers as well as local grants and donations. Its activities include distributing safe driving messages through the media, promoting safe driving before high school prom, painting “buckle up” stencils in school parking lots, and using demonstrations at fairs and other public gatherings to illustrate how drugs, alcohol and drowsiness can impair driving.

HUTCHINSON POLICE REPORT

Hutchinson Police Services responded to the following incidents: Feb. 22: Hutchinson Police responded to a report of shoplifting at Walmart. It was alleged the adult female suspect was not scanning all her items while using the self-checkout, as well as switching tags for lesser-valued items while scanning. The suspect then proceeded to leave the store with unpaid merchandise totaling $264.04. Kimberly Ann Kotzer, 54, of Hutchinson was taken into custody and transported to the McLeod County Jail. Kotzer has been formally charged with misdemeanor-theft and misdemeanor-traffic regulationphysically disabled: unlawful exercise of parking privileges. Walmart later supplied information that an additional theft took place by this same individual at 12:06 p.m. the same day. Total merchandise allegedly taken for that incident was valued at $64.72. The charges for both incidents have been combined together under the formal charges.
