Jan. 12: Hutchinson Police responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of School Road Northwest/North High Drive Northwest. The vehicle — a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox — was eastbound on North High Drive Northwest,when the driver — Gretchen Tate Baune, 18, of Hutchinson — slowed to turn southbound on School Road Northwest. The vehicle slid and struck the stop sign at School Road Northwest. No reported injuries. No tows. Seatbelt worn. The driver was issued a citation for misdemeanor- traffic-duty to drive with due car speed greater than reasonable.

Laughter echoed as volunteers gathered Jan. 23 to fold, stuff, seal, stamp and send 400 letters seeking sponsorships for the 2025 RiverSong Music Festival, July 11-12, at Masonic/West River Park in Hutchinson.
