The 103rd legislative session begins on January 8th, 2025, and you might be surprised to know the members of the Missouri House of Representatives will start the year with an average of only 2.5 years of experience in state government. Because of term limits, the average experience level of your state representatives is the equivalent of a first-year sophomore.

Schirmer And Walton Running Unopposed
As of press time on December 30, in the available positions for alderman in the April vote, incumbent, Jim Schirmer is running unopposed in Ward 2 and Chad Walton is running unopposed in Ward 1 for the seat that Derek LeRoy is vacating.

MDC sets deer and turkey hunting dates for 2025-2026 seasons
The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) recently set turkey and deer hunting dates for the 2025-2026 seasons. The hunting dates were approved by the Missouri Conservation Commission at its Dec. 13 open meeting at the MDC St. Louis Regional Office in St. Charles.

FFA members place at state
Three members of the Hutchinson FFA chapter competed at the Minnesota State FFA leadership contests Dec. 9-10. Paisley VonBerge earned a third-place finish in public speaking, and Weston Witte took third in the FFA Creed contest.

The Minnesota Legislature recently passed a House resolution commending Ridgewater and its award-winning meat cutting program for demonstrating educational innovation and excellence.
LDC Hockey Day planned for Jan. 4
Hockey will have its day Saturday, Jan. 4, in Litchfield. The annual Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Hockey Day includes, yes, a bunch of hockey to be played. But other activities â and food â are also planned for the day, which runs from 11 a.m. with the puck dropping for the first game, through the end of the fourth game of the day.
