Hutchinson Senior Center is owned and operated by Hutchinson through its Parks, Recreation and Community Education Department. Bingo cards of life

Before I started as pastor at Vineyard United Methodist Church, I spent three weeks in Spain this June. I walked the end section of the Camino de Santiago, French Way. This is an ancient pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella where Saint James is rumored to be buried. Christians throughout the ages have journeyed there to ask for forgiveness, healing and seek God. Now the stories of holy encounters on the Way abound and people from all over the world walk for many reasons.

A job well done …

Three months ago, it was a dream. Today it’s a reality. Hutchinson folks stepped up and worked together to raise more than $102,500 to build a fence for the deer at the Gopher Campfire Wildlife Sanctuary. Last week, Oberg Fence employees were putting the finishing touches on the viewing portion along the north side of the sanctuary.

Bloodmobile donors give 142 units

Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson Aug. 13, collecting 142 units. Milestones were reached by the following: 13 gallons: Rhonda Crotteau; 8 gallons: Michael Edberg; 4 gallons: Scott Wicklund; 3 gallons: Melissa Sanken; 2 gallons: Cindy Gregor, Karen Braaten and Andrew Wilke; 1 gallon: Zachery Hausladen, Terri Edberg, Jacqui Field, Genessa Sadler, Tory Piehl and Katie Varpness. First time donor: Paige Hertell.
