Belonging Begins With Us celebration Sept. 15
A grass-roots coalition representing more than a dozen community organizations is planning an event featuring music, games and food to celebrate unity among Hutchinson-area residents. Titled Belonging Begins with Us, the celebration is set for 1 to 3 p.m.

Hutchinson Police Services responded to the following incidents: JULY 25: Hutchinson Police responded to a report of theft on the 1300 block of Jefferson Street Southeast. The reporting female stated that items were taken from her vehicle sometime the previous evening. Cash, a diaper bag and an electronic tablet were taken. Estimated value for items is $250. No suspect(s) at this time.
Free well water testing at the County Fair
If you have a private well, you should be testing your water regularly for nitrates and other contaminants. McLeod County residents are encouraged to participate in a free well water testing event being conducted 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

125 YEARS AGO: 1899 A number of cows have been sick this week and two have died — Emil Kiesler’s and Jerry Welch’s. It is thought the sickness was caused by eating weeds and dry grass.
