How is your summer going? My summer is a mix of family events including one wedding, church responsibilities, household projects, gardening, Bible study, babysitting, time with friends, reading, classic book club, writing, sitting on the deck, grilling, salad making, and being outside, preferably by any lake or at Anderson Gardens. It sounds like I am busy, which is not always the case.

After more than 70 years of operation, Hutchinson Manufacturing is closing its doors — permanently. According to Miles Seppelt, director of Hutchinson Economic Development, the company laid off the bulk of its employees July 10.
