State meet experience expected to bolster team Replacing one state meet competitor will be a tall order, but the Hutchinson girls swimming and diving team has a solid foundation to build upon as it enters this season. Coach Rory Fairbanks, who’s entering his 25th season at Hutchinson, said the Tigersharks are focused on building upon their strengths and cultivating new talent as they prepare for the 2024 season.

The 2024 season came to a sudden end, much sooner than Hutchinson Huskies players and fans might have expected. One season after reaching the third weekend of the state tournament, Hutchinson did not even reach the big show this season.
Hutchinson High School’s volleyball program will celebrate half a century of competition with a special event Saturday, Aug. 24.
It’s not the position they wanted to be in, but the Hutchinson Huskies have been here before and come out all right. In fact, it’s a test they passed just last season.
