Hutchinson won one of three games during a tournament Saturday at Mound. The Tigers opened the tournament with a 13-3 loss to Richfield but rebounded with a 12-2 win over Willmar.
With a roster that looks much the same as it has the past few seasons, the Hutchinson Huskies enter the 2024 schedule with similar ambitions. “Every year, the goal is to get to the state tournament, and once you get there, anything can happen,” Huskies manager Mike Kutter said.
A pair of wins Saturday helped the Hutchinson softball team level its record as it heads into the second half of the season. The Tigers reached 4-4 overall with an 11-1 win over Alexandria and a 10-8 win over Little Falls Saturday at Little Falls.
Anglers will hit lakes throughout the state this weekend as the Minnesota fishing opener begins Saturday. And all indications are that the season holds big possibilities on area lakes.
The awards keep coming for Conner Hogan. The Hutchinson High School senior recently earned recognition as the Athlete of the Year from the Minnesota Swimming and Diving Coaches Association during its annual banquet April 26.
